Inspiration

We were inspired by our own dreams. We discussed and shared our past dreams that may have led to revelations about our waking life or dreams that are symbolic of our current situations. We found that dreams can be useful and insightful mediums to better understanding ourselves.

What it does

DreamSpace is a social app where users can share and comment on each other's dreams. It is also a personal tracker that can help users organize and keep tabs on past dreams they've had.

How we built it

We built our prototype using Figma. We started with lo-fis and polished them into hi-fis, developing the brand identity as we went.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into while making DreamSpace included making sure users didn't have to input an unnecessarily large amount of information into the app while using it. Having to manually input or type in responses creates friction for the user experience, and since DreamSpace is designed to be used every day, it was important to cut any redundant or unneeded sections.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the brand identity and app aesthetic we have created. It feels light, welcoming, and calming, which is the feeling we want to invoke in users especially if they are still waking up.

What we learned

We learned that especially under a tight timeline, it is important to prioritize only the most crucial features of our app. We previously had other supplementary ideas to add, but ultimately decided to use that time fleshing out the primary pages and making sure the pages we had were the best they could be.

What's next for DreamSpace

If we were to keep working on this project, we think it would be crucial to have user testing. We would also want to add features to ensure privacy. Because dreams are very personal and telling of people's waking lives, we want to build trust in our users and make sure DreamSpace is a safe place for them to share.
