Inspiration

The magic of bedtime stories is a universal language. But what if we could make it interactive, creative, and AI-powered? We wanted to create a fun, safe and imaginative space where paraents and children can co-create unique adventures just by filling in a few ideas. This is for the little ones who love dragons, enchanted forests, and talking turtles—and for the parents who want storytelling moments that feel special and new every night.

What it does

DreamSeed is a kid-friendly web app that generates personalized bedtime stories based on 3 simple prompts:

• A character
• A place
• A problem to solve

Once submitted, the app creates a short magical story using the inputs and displays it in a colorful layout. It’s designed for mobile and tablet use, with warm visuals, large fonts, and night mode for cozy bedtime reading.

How we built it

The app was built entirely in one prompt using Bolt.new, as part of the One-Shot Challenge. I crafted a precise prompt focused on accessibility, user experience, and storytelling logic. The form collects user inputs and feeds them into a pre-defined story generator block. The UI was styled with playful colors and animated stars, and we included the official “Powered by Bolt” badge in the top corner.

• We created a joyful, polished experience using zero code and zero edits after generation.
• The result is a lovable product that can be used by parents, educators, or even as a classroom tool.
• It's our first AI-generated children’s product, and we’re proud of how magical it feels!

What we learned

• Prompt design is product design. The quality of the result is all about how you think through the experience before asking the AI to build.
• Constraints fuel creativity. Creating something delightful in one shot taught us to be intentional, simple, and user-first.

What's next for DreamSeed

• Adding voice narration with ElevenLabs so the story can be read out loud with personality.
• Auto-generating illustrations based on the story scenes using image AI.
• Building a story library so families can revisit their favorites.
• Including accessibility options (font size, dyslexia-friendly fonts, language support).
