Inspiration

Many people have a vision of what their dream job looks like, such as working at a top tech company to starting their own business. However, getting a job may require numerous stages of interviews, and it is natural to get nervous during interviews.

DreamJobLander is a PartyRock application built to support users as they prepare effectively for their interviews and help them feel prepared when they attend their next interview. Essentially, DreamJobLander provides example interview questions and answers that users can use to practice and be inspired as they prepare for their interviews. There is a expansive range of practice behavioral and technical/role-based interview questions users can view based on a specific job title or description. DreamJobLander also contains an InterviewPrepBot, which can give instant and valuable feedback on interview answers.

Not only can DreamJobLander be used by people preparing for interviews, but it can also be used by interviewers, as they can use this application to find interview questions they can ask during their next interview!

What it does

DreamJobLander is a PartyRock application that helps users prepare for upcoming interviews and achieve their career goals! DreamJobLander can also be used by interviewers to be inspired by potential interview questions they can ask and what makes an interview answer exemplary.

Users can type in a job title or description and see a variety of potential behavioral and role-based/technical questions they may see in their upcoming interviews. Users can also type in interview questions, and the application can return a sample interview answer to inspire users when they are preparing how to answer potential interview questions. If a user has a sample interview answer but wants to improve their answer, they can use the InterviewPrepBot to receive feedback on how to enhance their answer.

How I built it

DreamJobLander was built using PartyRock, a generative AI app builder powered by Amazon Bedrock. The DreamJobLander application was built through prompt engineering and manual design creation. Some of the AI models used to create the images and texts include Claude and Stable Diffusion XL.

Challenges I ran into

This was my first time creating an application using PartyRock and prompt engineering. Regardless of having very minimal experience with PartyRock and prompt engineering, the PartyRock guide and external resources helped me learn how to efficiently build an AI-generated app.

As an example of a challenge I overcame, when I was creating the prompt for the application to show potential role-based questions, the original results of questions were too specific and not open-ended. After learning more about prompt engineering and how to create good prompts, I learned how to balance the level of details and instructions in my prompt to help the model understand to output broad, open-ended role-based questions.

It was a very fun and thrilling experience, as I learned about the various capabilities of AI with the help of the PartyRock app builder platform.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

This was my first time creating an application using PartyRock and prompt engineering. Throughout the process, I learned how AI can be used to create applications that can help the community in various ways. I am very proud of the learning journey I embarked on as I learned more about artificial intelligence and how it is used to build applications through PartyRock.

What I learned

I learned how to create an AI-generated application using PartyRock. I also learned about prompt engineering, the importance of creating balanced prompts that can help AI models give the correct output, and various AI image-generation and text-generation models.

What's next for DreamJobLander

I hope to grow DreamJobLander and enhance its capabilities to help users prepare for interviews. This includes engineering the prompts for the AI tools to increase the accuracy of the questions and answers output by the AI tools. I also hope to create a tool to help users develop their skills through career growth tools suggestions to help them land the interviews for their dream jobs.
