Inspiration
I've always wanted to represent my most recurring dream in an AR Filter. In this dream I see people and birds floating around and where only my voice is heard.
What it does
Connect with other users who have similar dreams to achieve a common interpretation.
How I built it
I used PIFuHD project (Multi-Level Pixel-Aligned Implicit Function for High-Resolution 3D Human Digitization) to create a 3D clone of me. All the clones has a color effect. Also I used Tilt Brush to paint a bird and I optimized it in Blender to improve shapes. Once I exported all the 3D elements into Spark AR, I multiplied them and I added a voice effect.
Challenges I ran into
The most challenging thing was conceptualizing the dream. The filter should show that we are in a dream world and that there are humans floating.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud to combine various tools and knowledge that I have gained from creating filters. I think the great potential of augmented reality is mixing ideas and platforms to achieve something powerful.
What I learned
I learned how to combine many skills such as VR Paint (Tilt Brush) and optimize 3D objects to create filters in Spark AR with less than 3MB.
What's next for Dream State
I want to generate more filters related to dreams and not only show them with plane tracker, but also with face tracker.
