Dream Journal

Inspiration

We were thinking about things we would want to be able to track in our daily lives, and we thought it would be interesting if we could track dreams. We also thought about how dreams are sometimes known to be deeply connected to our mental health, so we wanted to focus on that aspect in this project.

What it does

Dreams are often said to be a glimpse into your mental health and subconciousness. The aim of our project was to create a tool that could use that connection between dreams and mental health to help us better understand ourselves and better our daily lives. By typing your dream into our tool and answering a few quick questions, it will analyze what you wrote and give an overview of how that dream could be connected to your mental health. It will give levels of stress, anxiety, happiness, etc. it thinks you are feeling from the dream, and then if the user is experiencing an issue, it will offer solutions and guidance.

How we built it

We built the entire thing on figma design with absolutely no figma make used, but this is our first time using it so many youtube videos were watched haha.

Challenges we ran into

Since this is our first time using Figma, there were many challenges in figuring out how the program worked at all. Organizing our work in the short time frame was also very difficult, and we had to plan quickly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of our design and what we came up with in only a few days. We are especially proud that we were able to build so many pages when we had no idea what we were doing in the beginning.

What we learned

We learned most of the basic functions of Figma and how to organize our time on a tight deadline.

What's next for Dream Journal

Hopefully in the future we will continue to build more pages, allowing the website to be fully functionable!! If we were to imagine this in a far future, we imagine there would be a tool that tracks our dreams without manually inputting it into a website -- like a pillowcase that reads into our headspace.
