Inspiration

It all started with a dream.

We realized that countless people around the world have bold, innovative startup ideas — but those dreams are often lost due to lack of support, fear of failure, or simply not knowing where to begin.

DreamDrop was inspired by one core belief:

"Everyone deserves the chance to turn their dream into a reality."

We wanted to make startup creation as fun and easy as posting on social media — and that’s exactly what DreamDrop is about.

What it does

DreamDrop empowers users to:

  • ✨ Drop their startup idea
  • 🧠 Generate an AI-based name, tagline, and summary
  • 🎧 Get an AI-generated audio summary
  • 🎨 Instantly generate a startup logo using AI
  • 🌐 Vote, comment, and connect with other dreamers
  • 🏆 Compete in weekly leaderboards
  • 🎮 Enjoy a Fun Zone filled with memes, jokes, and games

Think of it as a launchpad for your dream — backed by AI and community support.

How we built it

We used a powerful tech stack:

  • Bolt.new – for front-end development and live editing
  • OpenAI API – to generate the name, idea summary, tags, and audio script
  • Tavus – replaced with AI logo generator and text-to-speech audio using OpenAI
  • Expo & React Native – for UI and mobile-friendly design
  • RevenueCat – for subscription billing
  • Firebase – for authentication and Firestore database
  • Sentry – for error monitoring
  • [Lingo, Entri, Nodely, 21st.dev] – for onboarding, personal productivity, and design enhancements

We wrote backend logic like generateStartup.ts and connected it with Bolt’s UI using secure API routes.

Challenges we ran into

  • Syncing multiple sponsor tools like RevenueCat and Firebase required careful structuring
  • TTS voice generation took tuning to sound natural and inspiring
  • Making the logo generator dynamic while avoiding copyright issues was tricky
  • We had to avoid tools like Pica and Dappier due to budget restrictions
  • Optimizing Bolt components to handle complex flows smoothly

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • ✅ Built a full-stack dream-to-startup web app in record time
  • ✅ Created a fun and engaging UI using only hackathon tools
  • ✅ Integrated 10+ sponsor APIs with minimal custom code
  • ✅ Received encouraging responses from early users and mentors
  • ✅ Showed how AI can democratize innovation

What we learned

  • We became better at API integration, UI design, and collaborative debugging
  • We learned how to architect scalable features quickly using tools like Bolt, Firebase, and OpenAI
  • It’s possible to turn a vague idea into a working prototype in just a few days

What’s next for DreamDrop

We’re already working on:

  • 🔒 Implementing NFT-based idea ownership
  • 🧑‍💻 Connecting real investors with top-voted dreams
