Inspiration

There are three titles which we have taken as major inspirations for our game: ​

  1. Earn to Die is the first major inspiration for our game because of its engaging driving, player upgrades/progression and structured loop. Plus, zombies. ​

  2. Temple Run is our second inspiration because of its addictive gameplay and how it embodies Pick Up ‘n’ Play, which is one of our game’s Pillars. ​

  3. The last inspiration is Arizona Sunshine, because of its overall feel and the way it utilises VR to provide immersive and satisfying gameplay.

Challenges we ran into

Giving the game a unqiue identity was a challenge we encountered, given our inspirations. It took a lot of discussions and brainstorming until we hit on the answer, which was the premise of a "real world" vs a "dream world" in the game, which the player could switch between.

What's next for Dream Drive

We are considering developing the title into a prototype, then potentially a full game. For now, we are focusing on the pre-production stage to estimate the timeline of development.
