Inspiration
We have been concerned with the lack of sleep our friends and our team have been recieving. It is a serious problem plauging the modern college student. Ironically, even during the development of this website, we did not sleep. The dream coin team knew something needed to change.
What it does
Our website allows users to log and monitor their sleep in exchange for coins. Our app literally allows you to make money in your sleep. All currency is transactable on our platform for school supplies and other items.
How we built it
Using Django in a vscode enviroment, we used our brains and the internet (as well as some HTML) to create our website.
Challenges we ran into
Using Django proved to be a large challenge, but one that the dream coin team was more than willing to take on! In the end we failed to launch our app spectacularly. At the very end, once we thought our backend was working, our frontend would not load properly. Thus, our submission is what it is. But as spectacularly as we went out, we worked hard and are proud of our acomplishment!

We're proud that we can now setup a django development enviroment in a matter of minutes for future projects.
What we learned
We learned the importance of sleep, a good plan, and how useful free online coding courses are in the development of an app. Similar to most other things, our app comes second to the friendships we made along the way. We learned how much we enjoy participating in hackthons, and what a great group we have. Thanks BrickHack team <3
What's next for Dream Coin
Dream coin's next goal is to fully complete the devlopment of our platform. We want to implement iphone functuonality and have cross platform APIs to transfer dream coins. Additionally, we want to start donation drives for textbooks to use in our marketplace. We're passionate about our idea and can't wait to keep working on it!
