Dream Career Coach

Inspiration

We chose this project because of how it directly was related to our community. We noticed that many members of our very own city had been loosing their jobs due to the pandemic. We wanted to help in the situation, by making jobs easier to get. We also noticed a problem young people people run into is the lack of mentors. This especially true for minorities and people from low income families. Unlike affluent people they do not have connections to professionals who work in their dream careers. We wanted to incorporate this into our project as well.

What it does

Our application, Dream Career Coach, addresses the job loss problem by matching professionals in the industry with aspiring students. Help in increasing the chance of getting a job, for people who lost their job due to the pandemic, by the professional reviews, one is most likely to land the job. Empower communities, helping them get their dream job, through educating them about their resume. Empower members of marginalized and impoverished communities who need opportunities to lift themselves out of poverty.

How we built it

First we thoroughly researched and followed many tutorials on how to add, connect as well as create a good user interface for ios apps using swift and from there we heavily incorporated and applied our knowledge into our code. Then we prototyped what our final ios application may look like using Figma.

We had difficulty using different swift UI kits at the start.
