Inspiration
What inspired me to create this app is a content creator on tiktok talked about rejection therapy and how her life opened up just by asking and "chasing No's" so I wanted to create an app that helps me track it because writing and a spreadsheet didnt make it feel real enough for me.
What it does
The app takes a spreadsheet I have with the companies that I want to reach out to, the ask, and the draft message. I then take that info and send an email or reach out to the point of contact. Then I check it off in my app, it moves to the Waiting tab and when I get an answer, I either get a trophy for the "yes" or gain XP for the "no". This way it gamifies this whole process for me.
How we built it
I built this with Claude Code in the terminal with the provided skill. It's a simple react frontend that allows me to upload files.
Challenges we ran into
The challenges I ran into were the landing page had competing elements & distracted from the overall theme. Text was all over the place & it had a poor visual hierarchy. The next issue was with the file upload only accepting .csv files. And finally, the last issue came from the message not loading in the app & not being copyable.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of the front end design & functionality. That was my first time ever making something like that and I'm really happy that I was able to build it fairly easy.
What we learned
I learned that in order to reduce mistakes and not waste tokens, it's better to plan a build from the beginning and really be intentional with the first prompt you give it and the order of the build.
What's next for Dream 2000
The next step is to integrate this into my personal app where I track my social media growth, business, & now the dream 2000.
