Inspiration: Doodle the Future implies color. So we wanted to create a project that can help others, while still relating it to the theme. We decided to make the project to help those that suffer from color blindness.
What it does: With the simply press of a hotkey, it shows the exact color name on the cursor. This simple program can help artistically curious color blinded people know what they are looking at.
How we built it: The Python program uses modules of numpy, pandas, and cv2 and uses a library of colors that is sent into the program, which is then used as the description of the colors. We can use any image and with two functions and a while loop, we can find the exact color name of the user selection.
Challenges we ran into: Importing modules and finding ideas for our project were our biggest challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Making a working program and finalizing an idea.
What we learned: We learned a lot more about the affects of colorblindness in our world
What's next for Color Cultivated: We want to advance our current program and make it a downloadable desktop app. We also want to include mobile apps.
