Another Example Sketch
Inspiration
We were inspired by current social media, such as Instagram and Facebook, and the old Pictochat app for the DS. We liked this idea because it is a way of communication that is not very mainstream these days yet it is more personal than text or photos, and helps to promote creativity. It is also very fun :)
What it does
Currently it allows for creation of account and posting of drawings to a public feed. We are also working on a private feed to allow private messaging.
How we built it
We used React JS for the front end and Flask + SQL for the backend.
Challenges we ran into
All of us have not used React or have had very little experience so this was the biggest challenge for us. We also had a few bugs when connecting the front end to the back end but it has since been resolved.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have made something that works :)))))))))
What we learned
We learned a lot about using React and making a web app.
What's next for Drawing Social Media
There are improvements we can do such as fleshing out private messaging and adding a like button to drawings.
