I was inspired to make this game because I personally love 2D platformers and I wanted to try my luck with one. Also recently I started learning Unity's engine so I wanted to capitalize on that a little. I learned how animations with Unity work and how Unity actually goes through the Hierarchy. This will all help me with my future endeavors with Unity. I faced countless challenges, one of which was simply having no team to rely on. With a crunched time period and minimal experience, I was worried that I would have nothing to show for this event, but I surprised myself in my ability to learn and implement. I also faced challenges in physics of the game, specifically interactions with walls, animation triggers, and enemy AI generation. These were challenges I overcame. There are currently challenges I was unable to overcome. Those challenges were mostly how to get enemies to respawn correctly, how to make their AI not confuse each other for enemies, and how to make them identify the player's location, rather than only patrol. These are challenges I will continue to work on, even after this hackathon is over. I hope to improve the game to perfection in hopes that others can get to enjoy it as well.
