About the Project
Dragon Guardians was born from my love for cozy fantasy worlds, creature companions, and short mobile adventures that feel rewarding even in just a few minutes.
I wanted to create a game where the player does not only collect resources, but builds an emotional bond with a dragon from the very first moment. The adventure begins by choosing an egg, watching it hatch, and receiving a dragon scale that becomes the player’s magical hook. From there, the core experience is simple:
The player travels to treasure islands surrounded by giant waterfalls, uses the dragon-scale hook to pull coins, jewels, and chests from the falling water, then returns to camp to care for their dragon and grow their sanctuary.
While designing the project, I learned how important the first minutes are. The game needs to explain itself quickly, but also create emotion. The biggest challenge was balancing two sides of the experience: the instant satisfaction of grabbing treasure, and the long-term feeling of building a home with your dragon.
Dragon Guardians is a game I would like to play during short breaks: cozy, clear, magical, and always giving the player one more reason to return.
