What it does
Dracula is an app designed to calculate the PBAC (Pictorial Blood Loss Assessment Chart) score. This allows women to easily monitor the blood lost during their menstrual cycle, aiding in the detection of medical conditions such as menorrhagia.
Challenges I ran into
The main obstacles encountered during the app's design stemmed from a lack of prior knowledge and experience in app development, coupled with the absence of familiarity with Android Studio and no previous programming experience in Kotlin.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Despite the challenges outlined in the preceding paragraph, I was able to successfully develop a somewhat functional app, providing a solid foundation for a more refined version.
What I learned
I gained programming experience in Kotlin and became proficient in using Android Studio. Additionally, I acquired knowledge in topics related to menstruation.
What's next for Dracula
The next step involves completing the coding for all the basic functionalities of the app. Subsequently, additional features, including the capability to import/export information between devices in backup files, the integration of health-related questionnaires, support for menstrual cups, and even the implementation of a feature allowing the app to automatically assign a score based on a picture of a tampon or pad, could be developed.
