Inspiration
Dr. Robo was inspired by the healthcare challenges faced by people in rural and underserved communities. Many people cannot afford expensive medical consultations, while in some villages doctors and healthcare facilities are not easily available. This can cause delays in getting basic medical guidance and accessing medicines. Dr. Robo aims to use AI and smart technology to make basic healthcare support more affordable and accessible.
What it does
Dr. Robo is a proposed AI-powered smart healthcare assistant designed to provide basic health information, medicine-related guidance, and support to people who have limited access to doctors. It is intended to work as a smart medicine dispensing system with an AI-based assistance layer, while encouraging users to seek professional medical care whenever required.
How we built it
Dr. Robo is currently at the ideation stage, so a working prototype has not been built yet. We developed the concept, identified the target users, studied the healthcare problem, and designed the proposed working model. The future prototype is planned to combine AI, IoT, sensors, and a smart medicine dispensing mechanism.
Challenges we ran into
The major challenge was designing a solution that could be affordable, simple to use, and useful in areas with limited healthcare infrastructure. Another challenge was ensuring that the system would provide responsible health guidance without replacing professional doctors. Since the project is still in the ideation stage, technical validation and prototype development remain future challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have developed Dr. Robo as a solution focused on improving healthcare accessibility for underserved communities. We presented the idea at a hackathon and successfully reached the final round. This experience helped us improve our idea, presentation skills, problem-solving approach, and understanding of real-world healthcare challenges.
What we learned
Through developing Dr. Robo, we learned how to identify a real-world problem and convert it into a technology-based startup idea. We also learned about healthcare accessibility, user needs, AI applications, product planning, and presenting an idea effectively in a competitive environment.
What's next for Dr. Robo
Our next step is to build and test a working prototype. We plan to improve the system through expert feedback and user testing. We also aim to explore partnerships with doctors, hospitals, NGOs, and healthcare organizations to validate the concept and make Dr. Robo more practical, safe, affordable, and accessible.
