Inspiration
The project was inspired by the nearing season of love (Valentine's!), a time where many anxious teenagers struggle with asking out their crushes. Therefore, we decided it would be the perfect idea to create a website to help teenagers combat this.
What it does
Our website gives a cute little setup for someone to ask their crush out and also figure out where to go on a date together. Moreover, it gives tips and advice on how to make the perfect date, deal with rejection and potentially move onto the next level of a relationship.
How we built it
We built it using VS Code (utilizing html and css), each working on separate pages, then through correspondence, we combined the files and uploaded it to Github for viewing.
Challenges we ran into
Transferring files between each other was incredibly difficult, not to mention how creating the site itself was already another hassle. There were so many alignment issues and font issues, but we persevered! Though we thought we hit a wall when it came to uploading to Github! But luckily, with the help of the staff around HackTAMS, we managed to successfully upload everything and now are running a functional website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are incredibly proud of our utilization of time and problem solving skills when it came to the many difficulties we encountered.
What we learned
We learned a lot of new techniques and gained a deeper understanding of html and css. Furthermore, we became more comfortable with using Github and Vs Code, expanding our knowledge in the realm of Web Development!
What's next for Dr. Love
As said before, Dr. Love was made on very limited time, so many of the features are a bare minimum compared to what we could do with infinite time. Meaning the next steps are enhancing the qualities (essentially fine tuning to make it perfect).
