Inspiration
The inspiration for our medical game stemmed from the captivating world of diagnostic medicine, particularly as depicted in the television show "Dr. House." The series' intricate medical mysteries and the genius yet unconventional approach of Dr. Gregory House in diagnosing rare and complex diseases sparked our fascination. We were intrigued by the idea of demystifying the medical diagnostic process and making it interactive, educational, and engaging for users. Our aim was to bridge the gap between entertainment and education, allowing players to step into the shoes of a diagnostician, unraveling symptoms and clues to reach a diagnosis, thus fostering a deeper appreciation for the medical field.
What it does
Our game simulates the diagnostic process, presenting players with patient stories complete with symptoms and medical histories. Players embark on a journey similar to that of Dr. House, utilizing limited information and resources to deduce the correct diagnoses. Through interactive decision-making, they order tests, consider possible diseases, and weigh treatment options. The game challenges players to think critically and make decisions under pressure, rewarding them for accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans while providing feedback and learning opportunities for mistakes.

Challenges we ran into
One of the major challenges was ensuring medical accuracy and realism while keeping the game engaging and accessible to those without a medical background while Creating an intuitive user interface that could accommodate the complexity of medical diagnostics without overwhelming the player also proved to be a significant hurdle.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are particularly proud of creating an educational tool that is both informative and entertaining. Seeing players actively engage with the content, learning about diseases, symptoms, and the diagnostic process, has been incredibly rewarding.
