Inspiration

The main inspiration for making this project is to help society in some form amidst this pandemic.

What it does

Dr. COVID is an android application that helps the users to track the covid updates in a user friendly interface along with it's trending videos, trending news and COVID-19 Analyzer features.

The problem Dr. COVID solves ==> Latest updates on COVID-19. ==> Shows preventive measures to users. ==> Provides trending news as well as trending videos in a very user friendly interface. ==> Has language change option for user convenience. (Supported languages : ENGLISH , HINDI) ==> Last but not the least, COVID-19 ANALYZER, it works offline and puts several questions regarding symptoms of COVID-19 and based on the given answers by the user, it shows the RISK probability along with the personlised recommendation.

How I built it

I built this software application using my tech stack :- ==> Android Studio ==> Android ==> Java ==> XML ==> JSON

Challenges I ran into

While working on this project, following mentioned challenges came in the route :- ==> Making a navigation drawer in android along with tab layout is causing bugs to arise. ==> Embedding youtube videos in the app from outside API caused trouble. ==> Changing the locale of the app was also a bit challenging.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am very happy now as i completed my project by overcoming all the challenges which helped me gain confidence.

What I learned

I learned practical implementation of Java language in making such real world projects.

What's next for Dr. COVID

There can be future improvements in the application like providing support to multiple locales, integrating ML to predict chances of COVID-19 for a particular person.
