Inspiration
My dog, Alice, loves the beach. So I let her imagination run wild.
What it does
The short film entertains and, just maybe, enlightens.
How we built it
I wrote a basic script and lyrics for the song, and shot the raw video. I used a variety of AI-based generative tools to create the assets (Krea, Fal, Kling, Google AI Studio, Flow, Suno, Nano Banana, Qwen Image Edit, Flux Kontext, Seedream) and it all came together in DaVinci Resolve.
Challenges we ran into
It was a challenge "directing" the AI shots to get the desired compositions. And of course there's still the general AI video weirdness (temporal/character consistency), but it continues to improve.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Using a combination of "blocking photos" for reference along with image editing models and video models that offer frame/element controls, I was able to get pretty much what I wanted. This is the first project where I've not had to make major compromises due to the tools.
What we learned
Getting a workflow nailed down is extremely important to avoid asset churn and generally losing your mind.
