Inspiration

We were inspired by physics-based comedy games such as QWOP for this project. We were also inspired by our general love of cooperative multiplayer games, particularly ones that are comical in nature.

What it does

Each player controls one half of the two-person horse.

How we built it

We used GameMaker and GML to code the game's logic, and AseSprite to create the game's graphics.

Challenges we ran into

Creating the physics based body of the horse was quite challenging initially. Making the controls responsive and satisfying was another major roadblock we encountered.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're quite proud of the physics-based horse character we've created. it is a comical emulation of a floppy horse costume.

What we learned

We learned how to utilize physics to create a game in GameMaker.

What's next for Double Derby

In the future, if possible, we'd like to further improve upon the controls and make them more satisfying and responsive.
