Inspiration
Fashion is one of the most expressive parts of human identity, yet digital spaces lack meaningful ways to represent culture, style, and ownership. I wanted to fuse fashion, community, and Web3 into a single ecosystem that empowers creators and gives users control over their digital identity.
What it does
DOTique lets users design digital wearables, mint them as NFTs, customize 3D DOTvatars, join NFT-gated communities, and trade fashion items—all powered by Polkadot and Unique Network.
How we built it
We used Typescript React + vite for cross-platform UI, @react-three/fiber for DOTvatars, Supabase for backend/database, Unique Network for minting, and Polkadot.js for wallet integration and NFT operations.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up smooth wallet linking, optimizing 3D rendering on mobile, and ensuring a seamless creator-to-NFT flow were major technical hurdles. Designing a cohesive fashion UI across devices also required refinement.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a working flow from wearable creation → minting → marketplace listing, and integrated 3D avatars with custom outfits. Our biggest win: making digital fashion feel intuitive and fun.
What we learned
Interoperability, metadata standards, and user experience matter just as much as blockchain infrastructure. We also learned how to bridge fashion creativity with Web3 technology effectively.
What's next for Dotique
Launching creator drops, expanding avatar customization, integrating more Polkadot parachains, enabling brand partnerships, and building deeper community mechanics such as quests, events, badges, and DAO-powered governance.
