Inspiration
I wanted a space where creators can receive real support in a simple way, and Polkadot offered the speed and security to make it possible. By connecting their X account, creators can let fans easily verify who they are and build trust while receiving donations in DOT.
What it does
The platform lets creators connect their X account, set up a verified profile, and receive donations in DOT from their fans. Supporters can easily find real creators, send tips, and help them grow while enjoying a smooth and secure experience on Polkadot.
How we built it
We built the platform using Polkadot for fast and secure transactions in DOT. The frontend was created with modern web tools to keep the experience smooth for creators and fans. We integrated X login so creators can verify their identity, and we connected wallet support to allow direct DOT donations. The flow was designed to be simple, reliable, and easy for anyone to use.
Challenges we ran into
We had trouble finding the right design that felt simple and clear for creators. Setting up OAuth with X was also a challenge, especially making it work smoothly through Privy without a backend. Getting everything secure while keeping the flow easy took a lot of testing and fixes.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that the project works smoothly from start to finish. We successfully added Polkadot wallet support and made it easy for creators to receive DOT. Getting everything connected and running without issues feels like a big win.
What we learned
We learned how to work with Polkadot wallets and handle DOT transactions in a smooth way. We also gained experience using OAuth through X and integrating it with Privy. Finding the right design flow and keeping everything simple taught us how important a clear user experience is.
What's next for DOTIP
Next steps include scaling the platform to support more creators and improving the experience as the community grows. We’ll also focus on marketing to reach new users and build a strong base of creators and supporters.
