DoseWise

Inspiration

This project was inspired by the belief that preventive health should be simple and accessible. We learned how to connect user input, logic, and design to build something practical. We developed the platform by combining frontend interface work with backend calculations to track vaccine progress, and one challenge was making results clear and meaningful for users.

What it does

DoseWise helps users understand their vaccination status by guiding them through personalized health questions and showing which vaccines they may need, why they matter, and where to get them. It also promotes women’s health awareness by including preventive care and wellness information in one accessible place.

How we built it

We built DoseWise by combining a user-friendly frontend with backend logic that tracks responses, calculates vaccination progress, and suggests next steps. We organized the code into separate parts for input, processing, and display to keep it clean and easy to improve.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we faced was managing data persistence between multiple files in our project. We needed user inputs from one part of the application to be accessible in another so vaccination results could be calculated and displayed correctly. Ensuring the data flowed reliably between files without being lost or reset required us to rethink our structure, improve how we handled variables and storage, and better understand how frontend and backend components communicate.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of creating a platform that makes preventive health feel approachable instead of intimidating. The personalized flow, vaccination guidance, and focus on women’s health awareness all came together into a cohesive and meaningful tool.

What we learned

We learned how to turn a real-world health problem into an interactive digital solution, improve collaboration between design and functionality, and communicate complex information in a clear and supportive way.

What's next for DoseWise

Next, we plan to add user accounts, real-time clinic integration, and smarter recommendations so DoseWise can provide personalized reminders, track vaccination history over time, and guide users toward even better preventive care.
