Inspiration
Many (most?) dementia patients have some level of medication dependence. Often medications are delivered in a pharmacy preparation called a dosette. A dosette is organized by time-of-day and day-of-week. For a non-dementia sufferer the individual days and times are easily managed. The individual opens the 'pod' for the correct day/time and takes their meds.
I have watched my family members lose their ability to manage time-of-day awareness. I have also watched them lose their ability to regulate their sleep patterns. On a number of occasions they have woken in the 'wee hours', conclude it is morning, and take their morning medications many hours too early.
What it does
It takes a standard dosette medication package and exposes individual 'pod' access at the correct time and date. Further a system of audible messages can communicate with the user to remind them that it is time for their meds.
