✨ Inspiration
Growing up with both parents living with chronic illnesses was more than a health concern — it was a constant emotional weight. My father, who battles diabetes, once came dangerously close to having his leg amputated due to a missed medication regimen. My mother, managing high blood pressure, collapsed at work because she skipped a dose. These weren’t just accidents — they were moments that could’ve ended differently if only a smarter system had been in place.
In Nigeria, where access to healthcare is unreliable and emergency responses are often too late, the consequences of missing medications can be fatal. I imagined: what if there was a tool that persistently reminded them — not just with alarms, but with a voice, a face, and a sense of urgency? DoseBuddy was born out of that need — a mission to make staying healthy feel like second nature.

💡 What it does
DoseBuddy is an AI-powered medication assistant that helps people with chronic conditions stick to their treatment plans. It sends smart, personalized reminders via voice (ElevenLabs) and friendly AI video agents (Tavus), logs every dose securely on the Algorand blockchain, and alerts emergency contacts when critical doses are missed — all from a mobile-responsive, no-code app built on Bolt.new.

🛠️ How we built it
We used Bolt.new to create the entire app visually, without writing code. Supabase powers the backend, storing user data, medications, and logs. We integrated: • Tavus for an AI video assistant to engage users. • ElevenLabs for voice reminders that feel personal and urgent. • RevenueCat to manage Free vs Premium plans. • Algorand to store verifiable medication logs. • Netlify + Entri for hosting and deploying to a custom domain.

⚠️ Challenges we ran into
Integrating third-party tools like Tavus, ElevenLabs, and Algorand via Bolt’s no-code interface required creative problem-solving and workarounds, especially when handling voice scheduling and webhook simulations. As a coding beginner, managing multiple systems simultaneously was overwhelming — but Bolt’s visual builder and AI guidance made it achievable.
