Inspiration
One of our group members (Wyat) heard about people doing businesses in dorms. Most people spread it through word of mouth or on their snapchat stories, ways that are more obscure. Wyat thought it would be a good idea to create an app where people are able to market their dorm businesses.
What it does
How we built it
We primarily used Swift to build it, both for UI/frontend and for the backend. We used Firebase to store the data.
Challenges we ran into
We originally thought of using Go for our backend, however we were having issues with it being finnicky in our terminal. Also we barely had exposure to Go, so it felt tasking to have to learn it on the spot especially with the issues we were running into.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Finishing the project early, and in general. We also like how creative it is to sneak it into Mad Scientist.

How to use Swift and Firebase. How to set up Maps on iOS.
What's next for DormBiz
Cleaner UI, and possibly a way for someone to message the owner.
