Inspiration
One of the members recently visited the ER, and 2 members were diagnosed with asthma at a young age and have dealt with the issue being overwhelmed upon discharge.
What it does
It takes the information presented to patients at discharge and presents it in a way that is easier to understand and follow than current methods.
How I built it
Using python and Django for backend, twilio for the alert system, and html/css for the client page. Each task was split between team members, with the last member assisting in all fields.
Challenges I ran into
Determining a name was a fervent battle, blood was shed and friendships were tried. In the end, Doot Doot Skadoot came out victorious. Many members had little to no experience with any of the tools. Only 1 member was familiar with all of the tools beforehand.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The team came together through thick and thin and completed the project before the deadline. Despite the lack of experience, the team was able to familiarize themselves with the tools necessary and create an end product all parties were proud of.
What I learned
The members familiarized themselves with all of the tools used, and through this experience were able to reflect on what needs to improve for the next development cycle.
What's next for Doot Doot Skadoot
Who knows, maybe some trumpet lessons or a mobile app implementation. Maybe a better name.
