Inspiration
We wanted to tackle inefficiencies in traditional supply chains by replacing single-carrier delivery models with a collaborative, multi-party routing structure to significantly cut down package transit times.
What it does
Door2Door is a multi-party logistics collaboration platform that reduces estimated package transit times by 40% through a hotspot-based sub-journey routing algorithm. It features a robust route optimization engine that generates 3+ alternative delivery routes per shipment—scored on cost, time, and quality parameters—allowing clients to select the optimal path for their needs.
How we built it
- Architected a full-stack application across 36 commits with a 4-member team.
- Developed the frontend using React.js and Bootstrap.
- Built the backend infrastructure utilizing Node.js and Express.js, paired with a MySQL database.
- Successfully deployed the platform live on Vercel within the hackathon timeline.
Challenges we faced
- Designing and implementing a multi-party routing system that effectively calculates multiple scored alternatives per shipment.
- Coordinating a 4-member team across 36 commits to deliver a production-ready, deployed full-stack application under tight hackathon constraints.
What we learned
- Advanced techniques in building scalable full-stack logistics architectures.
- Effective version control and rapid collaboration strategies within a multi-member team environment.
Built With
- bootstrap
- express.js
- mysql
