What it does
Theoretically, it should open Instagram Reels in an Electron window while also opening an eye tracker. Every time the user blinks, it should scroll to the next reel
How we built it
We used OpenCV and dlib to create the eye tracking and then Electron to embed the Instagram Reels feed. To interface between the two we created an multi-threaded API.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the eye tracker and the Electron window caused major problems overall, also ran into big issues with the API too.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting blinking detection working
What we learned
About computer vision but also to not be so ambitious
What's next for Doomscrolling Supreme
Absolutely nothing, barely functional at best
