Huawei Security CTF
Challenges we ran into
Our greatest challenge in the Huawei Systems Security tasks was the painstaking process of finding the proverbial needle in a haystack of binary blobs. It required navigating through dense and unfamiliar terrain. Using powerful tools like GDB, Radare, Ghidra, etc. we dove deep into the binaries, carefully debugging, analyzing, and piecing together the puzzle. It was a test of patience and precision, where every step closer to the solution came from methodical problem-solving and persistence. The given challenges pushed our skills to the limit but also showcased the synergy of our team as we cracked the problems bit by bit.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our proudest moments came from the small but significant steps we made during the challenge. Each tiny breakthrough—whether it was deciphering a tricky binary section, understanding a nuance in the FreeBSD documentation, or successfully debugging with GDB and Radare—gave us a sense of real accomplishment. These incremental victories kept us motivated, proving that persistence and attention to detail could turn complex tasks into achievable milestones.
Furthermore, it was an amazing feeling to learn a new Assembly Language & implement a program in it.
