GT7 Hackathon Project: AR app for children where they collaborate to create and share small stories featuring their doodles

One main goal we set for ourselves was to learn more about AR, and we wanted to create a project that addressed issues children are facing during these difficult times. Due to quarantine, many kids are unable to interact with their peers, which may have repercussions on their emotional and social development. Hence, we decided to make a drawing-to-life project, which enables kids to showcase their creativity while collaborating with others.

Challenges we faced: we overestimated the current capability of AR, which significantly reduced the scope of our project. We also ended learning about prototyping, cloud databases, voice-calls, etc. Although it was overwhelming at times, we felt that we were able to expand our skillset and become better developers:) We had a lot of fun doing this hackathon and we hope to expand on this project in the future!
