Inspiration

Our inspiration came from one team member (whose an artist) that was pondering how she could help people who don't know how to draw into incorporating more art and creative elements into their websites. It can be pretty hard to find assets online that fit your vibe and personality, so why not have a community-driven art platform where you can make personalized requests for art or doodles?

What it does

Users can write down a ticket, which contains information and a description of the doodle/art that they want, they can also opt to add a picture to give a reference, or give a level of skill they can request. Artists (or any other user) can take a ticket, draw the request, and submit a picture to the ticket they grabbed.

How we built it

We used Procreate to sketch out compositions and color schemes, Figma to put the concepts into a more solid website, html to be able to work with user inputs, JavaScrypt and CSS to take that user input and make the website interactable.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into multiple challenges throughout this hackaton. In the first place, as a team of 2, we each had bigger workloads. Second, it's our first ever hackaton and we lacked prior knowledge on what we should have expected. Lastly, our front end developer had little to no experience with designing a website using html, and our back end developer had never coded on back end!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud that despite the difficulties we managed to finish a demo in time for submission! We stayed true to our original vision even if features were cut, and we didn't lose the passion for this project.

What we learned

We learned about how to properly use Artificial Intelligence tools to aid into the creation of a website. We also learned how to connect our different interests of front and back ends into a product that made both of us happy and proud.

What's next for DoodleQuest

Definitely an expansion in features, there was multiple tabs and features that had to be cut due to time contraints, but we would still love to include in the future. Polishing and improving the Front end is also on the top priorities to work on!
