Doodle Morph

Inspiration

We wanted to make creativity more accessible and fun by allowing anyone to turn simple doodles into fully realized artwork. Inspired by AI-generated art and kids’ imagination, we set out to build an interactive experience that brings sketches to life.

What it does

Doodle Morph lets users draw freely on a digital canvas and transforms their sketches into stunning images based on selected artistic styles. Whether it’s realistic, pixelated, cartoon, or anime, the AI-powered tool enhances creativity and surprises users with unique results.

How we built it

Frontend: Built with Vue.js and Tailwind CSS, featuring a custom drawing canvas.

Backend: Uses a Python-based AI model to process doodles and generate transformed images. API developed with Flask. Processing: Converts user sketches into base64, sends them to the server, and applies AI-driven style morphing.

Challenges we ran into

Fine-tuning AI models for smooth and accurate transformations. Handling real-time drawing input efficiently. Optimizing UI for seamless interaction and intuitive controls.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully developed and deployed our first full-stack applications, integrating both front-end and back-end technologies. Gained a deeper understanding of image processing techniques and applied them effectively in our projects. Built and refined web pages with a focus on user experience, responsive design, and functionality. Strengthened our collaboration and problem-solving skills while working as a team on complex development challenges. Learned to optimize application performance and implement best practices in web development.

What we learned

Our team started developing web pages while deepening our understanding of image processing techniques. We've gained experience in building full-stack applications, working across front-end and back-end technologies. Through this process, we’ve enhanced our knowledge of web development principles, user interface design, and data processing methods.

What's next for Doodle Morph

Expanding the AI model to support more artistic styles. Adding animated morphing effects for dynamic transformations. Allowing users to save and share their creations more easily.
