Inspiration
Our main inspiration was Cookie Clicker.
What it does
In Donut Detonator, users begin by clicking on a donut. After accumulating a certain amount of clicks, the user will be able to buy upgrades that get them more clicks every second. The donut will respond to the number of clicks the user has currently, growing in size and changing the image sprite.
How we built it
The main app was built with Flask, a Python library, but the actual webpages were made with traditional HTML/CSS/JS
Challenges we ran into
Our first roadblock was picking an idea, as we had a large group who all had different coding experience. We also had one of our team members leave halfway through the event. Lastly, we had a lot of trouble on Flask when combining all our code because we were not using a central code management platform like GitHub.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to build a functional game and use Flask to run it.
What we learned
We all gained experience with Flask and HTML.
What's next for Donut Detonator
Next steps could be deploying the app with a service like OnRender, adding more features, and improving game balance.
