Launched out of a Bronx classroom twelve years ago, makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers create classroom project requests on the site, and people can give as little as $1 to the project which most inspires them. In New York City alone, more than 10,000 teachers have received funding for 32,000 projects, channeling $16 million in books, art supplies, technology, and other resources to students from low-income neighborhoods. Last year, Fast Company named one of the "50 Most Innovative Companies in the World," the first time a charity has made that list.
