Inspiration

My interest in crypto philanthropy and seeing the opportunity in NFTs to reward and celebrate people who actually donate and support causes, not just change their profile pictures

What it does

  1. Donifty makes it really easy for non-profits to start accepting crypto donations. It provides an embed button/widget through which the donor would send the money to a partner crypto exchange. Based on the charity's preferences, the exchange sends the charity fiat or keeps some of it in crypto for long-term appreciation. A tax receipt for the donor is generated based on the current value of the donation.

  2. The Donies are avatars that represent your philanthropy. They are created with your first donation and evolve into more 'rare' characters based on the causes and charities you support. They give you 'bragging rights' and 'social status' in Web3 and prove that you 'Put your coins where your mouth is!'

What we learned

This weekend I have researched the concept and incentives much more in detail. I'm a product designer, not an illustrator, but I have designed a couple of Donies to explain the concept better.

What's next for Donifty Club & The Donies

There are already some seeds of crypto philanthropy projects in Prague and Czech Republic. We are talking about partnering up and making this a reality
