Inspiration
There are countless to-do list apps and productivity tools out there, but I realized that most of them fail to capture the true complexity of the human mind. Our thoughts aren’t always structured or task-based—they’re often a mix of ideas, worries, reminders, and sudden sparks of inspiration. I personally struggled with this. I had so many things on my mind—tasks, anxieties, creative thoughts—and I’d dump them all into random notes apps, which quickly became cluttered and unmanageable.
That’s why I created Clarity Space—a tool that allows you to instantly offload your mind onto a clean digital sheet. No pressure, no structure at first—just a place to write everything you’re thinking. Then, the system helps you categorize what you’ve written as a task, thought, reminder, or worry, so you can manage it calmly and clearly. This became a huge step toward structured, intentional living for me.
What it does
Clarity Space is a beautifully minimal tool for instant mental offloading. You simply start typing—your thoughts, worries, tasks, or reminders—and the system helps you auto-classify them using a clean visual system. Entries are visually color-coded, easy to edit, and can be filtered by type, time, or completion status. The app includes a “Clear Head Mode” with a breathing animation and calming message that helps reset your mind when things feel overwhelming. It’s not just a productivity tool—it’s a space to breathe.
How we built it
This project was built entirely using Bolt.new, allowing rapid design and development without writing traditional code. I focused heavily on emotional design, using soft pastel gradients, glowing effects, and calming micro-interactions. The input field is always accessible, with placeholder prompts that gently rotate to encourage entry. Dark and light modes are fully supported, and the design adapts beautifully across devices. While the current version uses basic NLP rules for classification, I plan to train a more intelligent model in the future.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was creating a balance between simplicity and intelligence. I wanted the interface to feel light and clutter-free, but also powerful enough to handle different types of thoughts. Designing smooth visual transitions, soft glows, and responsive behaviors while keeping performance high also took a lot of refinement. Lastly, organizing everything in a way that felt emotionally supportive rather than robotic was a constant goal—and a challenge worth solving.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m proud that Clarity Space has become more than just another productivity tool, and is made of single PROMPT. It’s a safe space for your thoughts, where people can just write freely without judgment or chaos. The combination of beauty, calmness, and intelligent functionality makes this app special. I also feel proud that I was able to design it in a way that feels intuitive and friendly, especially for people who don’t want complex tools but still need help organizing their minds.
What we learned
This project helped me understand how design can directly influence emotional wellbeing. Tools that help people feel calm and in control are just as valuable as ones that boost speed or output. I also learned the importance of listening to my own pain points and creating something personal first—because chances are, others feel the same way. The combination of minimalism, categorization, and gentle UI helped me appreciate how simplicity can feel powerful when done right.
What's next for DoneOne - The One-Task-Per-Day Planner
In the future, I want to evolve Clarity Space into a lightweight but powerful companion app—something that lives on your phone or laptop screen as a popup, always ready for a brain dump. You could quickly offload tasks, thoughts, worries, or reminders anytime during your day. I also plan to integrate a smarter categorization model that learns from the user's input and automatically tags their thoughts more accurately. Ultimately, I want this tool to be complex under the hood for developers, but feel simple and calming for users—a true clarity assistant for everyday life.
