Inspiration
The construction of Masjid Taqwa Muhammadiyah Batam Kota required an organized way to support fundraising and manage donation information. We wanted to build a system that could make the donation process more accessible while improving transparency and accountability in financial management.
What it does
The Donation Management Information System supports fundraising and donation management for the mosque construction project.
The system provides features for online donation simulation, transaction handling, and financial report visualization, allowing donation information and financial data to be presented in a more structured and transparent way.
How I built it
The system was developed using a modern web technology stack:
- React.js
- Tailwind CSS
- Laravel
- PHP
- MySQL
- REST API
I worked as a Front-End Developer, responsible for designing and implementing the user interface using React.js and Tailwind CSS. I also integrated the frontend with the backend through APIs and contributed to implementing core features such as online donation simulation, transaction handling, and financial report visualization.
Throughout development, I collaborated closely with the team during system implementation, testing, and iterative improvements.
Challenges I ran into
One of the main challenges was integrating the frontend with the backend while ensuring that data from donation transactions and financial records was displayed correctly.
Another challenge was designing interfaces that could present financial information clearly while maintaining a simple and accessible user experience.
Handling different application states and ensuring that the frontend remained consistent with the backend data also required careful testing and coordination with the team.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of contributing to a system designed to support transparency and accountability in mosque fundraising.
As a Front-End Developer, I was able to build a responsive user interface, integrate it with the backend API, and contribute to important features such as donation transactions and financial report visualization.
The project also gave me practical experience working with React.js, Tailwind CSS, API integration, and a Laravel-based backend in a collaborative development environment.
What I learned
This project strengthened my understanding of modern front-end development, particularly React.js, Tailwind CSS, and API integration.
I also learned how frontend interfaces need to be designed around real financial workflows, where accuracy and clarity are important when presenting transaction and reporting data.
Working closely with the backend and other team members also improved my understanding of full-stack application integration and collaborative software development.
What's next for Donation Management Information System
Future improvements could include integrating real payment gateways, adding more comprehensive financial analytics, improving donation tracking, and providing additional reporting features.
The goal is to further develop the system into a reliable platform that can support the mosque's fundraising activities and provide donors with greater transparency regarding donation management.
