Inspiration: Our inspiration behind this was Flappy Bird and Gravity Run. Our goal was to create a 2D version of a assimilation of both of these softwares. Considering this is our first game we are very proud of what we accomplished.
What it does: This is a time killer game that drags the gameplay forever or until the player collides with an obstacle.
How we built it: We used JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. We created hyper-references to connect all these files together. In addition, the platform we used was Visual Studio Code. Furthermore, we used a time function to create a timer for the player and we used a object function to establish the player and enemy functions. In addition, we added a two cloud objects and a sun object to establish a background for the code.
Challenges we ran into: We had difficulty with the short time given. We had many obstacles in our path. Everything had to be searched. We stayed up till 6 A.M trying to work on the games and we kept running into bugs. However, we are proud of our final result!
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We were able to complete the project in a timely manner. We are proud we are able to work together to create one of our first games that took many hard-working, but productive hours.
What we learned: I learned to use more functionalities for the languages I used, I learned how to better manage my time and communicate with my team members
What's next for Don't Touch the Red Block!
This game will act as a stepping stone to improve our knowledge of the languages used and game development overall.
