Inspiration
Grocery shopping right now is crazy challenging! Online grocery ordering helps, but what I really need to know is how much I really have, and what my rate of consumption is. I need data to make decisions at the grocery store.
The stories of people hoarding TP, and the crazy videos we've seen on You Tube only further solidifies this fact.
What it does
It's a very simple inventory management app, that allows you to inventory your kitchen and track what's present, and how quickly you are consuming it. It requires diligence by the user to enter some data points when putting groceries away at home, and when cooking (consuming) good.
When you are headed to the grocery store it will tell you what you're low on based both on current inventory, and your rate of usage- providing you with an easy guide for what you REALLY need to buy.
How I built it
It's still in progress. It's a simple DRF api- and I'm planning to build a React front end.
Challenges I ran into
I'm not a designer or a front end engineer, so I'm making do- and learning a lot, but I would appreciate some help.
What's next for Don't Panic! Pandemic Kitchen Inventory Management.
I'm about to finish the API- should be pretty straightforward. I have a UI design- so next is the implementation. It would be fantastic to get some help.
