Domain Name Token

Inspiration

Domains, on top of their regular usage on the internet, are investment assets. With web3 the domain aftermarket can be liberalized, having the identity of domain names as NFTs the domain aftermarket can be built transparently and securely with instant finality. Traditional aftermarket domain selling services can charge exorbitant fees for each transaction.

What it does

Custodian of internet domain names registered as NFTs on blockchain. Domain Token registration requests are done fully on chain. All TLDs have a standard stable price in USD, payment for each registration / extension / import orders can be made in either accepted stable tokens or in native blockchain asset at the price provided by ChainLink oracle.

How we built it

Domain Tokens follow ERC721 standard. Doman Name Token is the custodian of the domain names identified by each token. When a Domain Token transfer is detected, if the address is of an active user, the nameservers and domain ownership is automatically switched to the new users defaults.

What's next for Domain Name Token

• create aftermarket / auction for domain tokens
• become a ICANN accredited registrar
• partner up with defi lending platforms to accept domain tokens as collateral for loans
