Inspiration

We were fascinated by the huge amount of news data. That is why we wanted to visualize them on a news map in order to see global stories unfold.

What it does

The app gathers news data from various news agencies and newspapers and displays them on a world map. If one wants additional information of a story, one can simply click on a dot.

How we built it

We built it with Node.js and the Express.js framework. Furthermore we used Leaflet for the map with Esri's services. We pulled the data mainly from the Thomson Reuters API.

Challenges we ran into

Nothing special, just bugs, bugs and more bugs.
