Inspiration
- Despite the fact that there are numerous apps for simple and seamless digital payment, many of us still lose track of our daily expenses.
- We waste a lot of time only for not knowing where the money is going.
- Because of the digitalization of currency, people's ability to manage money has also deteriorated.
I have been hopping between multiple apps to keep track of my expenses. So my thoughts went like why don't I built one for myself!?
What it does
Dollar dude is a simple yet effective way for teens and to all others to keep track of their expenses and visualize them through brilliant and appealing charts.
Dollar dude can assist the user in budgeting and decision-making by offering an overview of how money is spent and how it can be saved.
How I built it
- Dollar Dude is a mobile application built with Flutter.
- I have incorporated Google AdMob for displaying high quality banner ads.
- I have used Sqflite database to store user data and retrieve it in real time.
- BLOC, which allows the flutter widgets to communicate with other layers of the app is used for State Management.
- Fl_Chart, a library to draw fantastic charts in flutter is used to display bar charts and pie charts.
Challenges I ran into
- I am a beginner at flutter and this is my second application with flutter.
- I learnt about a number of libraries and plugins throughout the development.
- I worked as a solo hacker for the first time and that was quite challenging.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
- Completion of project on time
- Developing a fully functional application as an individual within 24 hours
