Inspiration

On September 3, 2017, a sad event occurred, a baby girl named debora died, allegedly due to late getting help from Private Hospital in West Jakarta - Indonesia. Parents of debora do not know that there is a hospital closer to where they live and there are health insurance/insurance facilities they have. Various parties blame each other, ranging from BPJS Insurance/National Health Insurance owned by Indonesia, and Health Facilities where debora was first treated. We are aware, this is due to lack of information to various parties, especially users of BPJS Insurance.

Until 2017, Facebook users in Indonesia reached the number of approximately 111 million active users (quoted from one of the national media of Indonesia). Utilizing chatbot facebook messenger as one step to convey information about health is one of the best step, not forgetting the case of baby debora also get to society/viral because of information disseminated by user in facebook.

How I built it

Our Stack technology uses "Facebook Messenger", "NodeJS", "wit.ai", while for Bot Engine uses "Carik" and "extend NLP" with "wit.ai".

Challenges I ran into

  1. Work with health facilities to obtain actual and reliable information.
  2. Processing conversation data for algorithms and approaches with optimal results (conversations can be more humane).

What I learned

  1. Information on health and facilities is dynamic, constantly changing.
  2. Users love the experience when chatting with chatbot, a variety of daily languages are used to communicate.
  3. There are still many users who have a great year's curiosity about the location of health facilities, BPJS insurance, and general health information.
