Inspiration
Our inspiration was basically an instagram feed. It’s very simple yet chic and can be filled with entertainment in the form of images and videos. We also love dogs and wanted to incorporate them in our project.
What it does
It displays a column of images and essentially acts as a photo gallery.
How I built it
We used Repl.It to host our code and coding in the web based languages of html and css. We applied flexbox elements to display the images and an aesthetically pleasing way that resembles an Instagram feed.
Challenges I ran into
Our wifi went our multiple times so we had to code multiple parts using our phones (zoom also didn’t work for us the time we did our demo.) In addition to the flexbox properties not cooperating for the longest time. But, we’re so happy with the final product.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Figuring out which flexbox properties would mesh to create the idea in our heads. Also just coding for the first time. It was really scary. I thought it was going to be very math based and in 1’s and 0’s but it’s actually quite easy to understand.
What I learned
We learned the fundamental properties of html and css. In addition to how flexbox works and how it can be applied to images.
What's next for Doggies
We hope to implement an instagram like bar at the bottom of each photo. We’d also like to make the website more interactive by giving little bios and descriptions to each photo (like the dog breed, it’s owner, and any social media pages they have.)
