Inspiration
Knowing that it is expensive to hire dogsitters and put dogs in dog hotels, we wanted to make a machine that can take care of your dog while you are away. We wanted people to be less stressed about taking care of their dog while they are gone at work or on vacation instead of relaxing.
What it does
Dog-Go Entertainment is a machine. The machine is a four wheeled machine that can move around. It has a ball launcher that rolls tennis balls in different directions. Once the dog catches the ball, it can easily put it back into the hole at the top of the machine where it can relaunch the ball. It also has a string that can do tug of war with your dog. The machine has a food and water dispenser on the side. The owner can edit the amount of food and water dispensed and when it dispenses.
How we built it
We used TinkerCad to design the basic look of Dog-go Entertainment, then used Fusion-360 for our final design. Our presentation is made with repl.it. Our animation is made with Scratch.
Challenges we ran into
We found it difficult to present our idea. We wanted to present all functions of our machine with code. We also wanted to make a professional looking website which was difficult because we were learning how to code it along the way.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of coming up with this idea because we found it hard to find original ideas and spent around an hour on a road block trying to find a suitable and an original idea. We are proud of how we worked well as a team and having a try at this competition.
What we learned
We learned some new HTML code. We also learned how to better use fusion-360.
What's next for Dog-go Entertainment
The next step for Dog-go Entertainment is building the actual machine in real life to see how it works in real life. We are interested in how our machine will work. We want to see how dogs will interact with our machine and how effective it is to entertain the dogs while you are away. We would love to also sell it to our friends who have dogs.
