Inspiration
Many of us throw our cans anywhere not knowing that it takes a lot of years to degrade and be part of the soil. People don't know much that the cans they can throw can get recycled to make many things. so our team (Anonymous Gamerz) has decided to tell people about this issue through the classic arcade game - Asteroids! Hence was born Dodge the Wastoids
What it does
This is a game built with the help of the popular coding software Scratch. This game is very straightforward and has an interesting introductory story. The remaining lives decide what award you get based on the three available - an electric car, a windmill and a solar panel
How we built it
We built it using Scratch and used quite complex numerical coding to make sure the game runs smoothly for all users to deliver our message.
Challenges we ran into
Our backdrop wouldn't change when the lives counter hit zero and it was difficult to get all sprites to follow what we desired; but we explored a lot through Scratch blocks and debugged our entire project.
Accomplishments that we are proud of
We are proud to present a debugged, fully functioning, completed game of Dodge the Wastoids!
What we learned
We learned how important it is to debug a program and the complexity of simple-looking sprites and their costumes.
What's next for Dodge the Wastoids!
Dodge the Wastoids is going to come with more difficulty levels and more mini games. Get, Set, Go!!
