Inspiration
Every organization today is drowning in documents — policies, approvals, reports, compliance notices, vendor communications, circulars, and updates. They arrive through emails, PDFs, scanned copies, cloud links, and chat apps. What we noticed was a silent but costly problem: employees spend hours reading lengthy documents only to find out they weren’t meant for them. In that noise, critical action points and deadlines often go unnoticed, leading to miscommunication, delays, and compliance risks.
This inspired me to build a solution that brings clarity, precision, and accountability to document management — where the right document reaches the right person, with the right actions highlighted instantly.
What it does
This platform transforms unstructured documents into clear, targeted, and actionable information: Upload any document → it gets auto-categorized, summarized, and routed only to the relevant teams. Action points are extracted instantly so users know exactly what to do. Compliance tasks come with deadlines, reminders, and progress tracking. A shared dashboard ensures transparency across departments, reducing duplication and confusion. A centralized knowledge hub preserves organizational knowledge, even when employees leave. Multilingual Support → accessible for diverse workplaces
The result: less reading, faster decisions, zero missed actions.
How we built it
Backend: REST API for scalable communication between modules NLP/AI Models for summarization and action-point extraction
Frontend: Next.js for fast, component-based UI and server-side rendering Tailwind CSS for clean and reusable UI styling
Database + Auth + Files: Firebase Firestore for real-time database and structured document storage Firebase Auth for secure role-based authentication Cloudinary for efficient and optimized document storage and preview
Challenges we ran into
Extracting meaningful action items from varied document types and formats Ensuring accurate routing to the correct departments without manual tagging Designing a UI simple enough for all user types
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built an AI-powered system that reduces document reading and routing time by up to 80% Successfully automated action point extraction with high accuracy Created a transparent multi-department workflow that prevents information silos Designed a knowledge retention model that protects institutional memory Developed a clean, intuitive UI that promotes faster adoption across all levels
What we learned
Applying NLP & AI models for real-world document summarization Balancing transparency and permission-based access Designing systems to retain knowledge beyond employee turnover Understanding UI/UX that reduces cognitive load and encourages adoption
