The inspiration for AidChain came from witnessing how global crises—like natural disasters and other conflicts strain others. Relief organizations often face delays due to complex contracts, language barriers, and unforeseen legal risks. We wanted to solve these issues by creating a platform that simplifies and accelerates collaboration, making contracts work for responders, not against them. Using DocuSign IAM technologies, AidChain aims to break down barriers, streamline processes, and empower relief teams to focus on saving lives, not navigating paperwork.
For now AidChain is a website that includes user login, AI to analyze and compare contracts to each other, and sends an email to show all parties involved the complete process of the contract. AidChain will be a platform built with DocuSign IAM that helps simplify disaster relief efforts by making contract management faster and easier. It checks if agreements follow international laws, spots risks, and provides insights across contracts to avoid delays. Plus, it allows real-time collaboration in different languages, so global teams can work together without any barriers. It’s all about making disaster response smarter, quicker, and more efficient.
Frameworks, libraries and technologies used - Next with typescript: We used next to create a UI along with tailwind to create UI and style pages. Graphql: We use graphql to create the backend. Queries are used to fetch data while mutations are used to update and create data. We used queries to get contracts and user data. We used mutations to login, signup, create and sign contract. MongoDB: The data is stored in mongodb on mongodb atlas. ORM: We used Prisma to interact with database. File Storage: We saved data on vercel blob storage. AI: We used openai along with langchain for AI. Langchain is an AI tooling library
Some challenges we ran into was AI accuracy and real-time multilingual support.
Training AI to accurately identify risks, compliance issues, and ambiguous clauses across various industries and languages. Developing robust, real-time translation tools that ensure legal and contextual accuracy while supporting multiple languages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of is turning an Idea into Reality. We took an ambitious concept, seamless global aid collaboration, and turned it into a functioning platform.
We learned that every crisis is different, and the needs for disaster relief can change rapidly. We learned the importance of building flexibility into the platform, allowing it to adapt quickly to new situations and priorities.
What's next for DocuSign's AidChain: The future of DocuSign’s AidChain lies in further enhancing its ability to streamline disaster relief operations and humanitarian efforts by integrating more advanced technologies and expanding its capabilities.
